ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP

Our History

Patford House Partnership

After a successful application to Wiltshire CCG, Beversbrook Medical Centre and Patford House Surgery (including their Branch – Sutton Benger Surgery) merged on the 1st April 2019. Patford House Partnership was formed as part of the merge providing the management oversite for all three Surgeries. The merger had less than a year to bed in before the Coronavirus pandemic hit the UK and in March 2020 PHP staff found themselves working in a very different environment and in very different ways, with home working and more collaboration between our neighbouring Primary Care Networks, offering dedicated services to patients who had coronavirus symptoms at the local dedicated Hot Hub and providing mass clinics to deliver COVID-19 vaccinations.

Our newly merged teams worked together tirelessly to maintain excellent standards of care to our patients during this difficult time. They adapted to new ways of working, providing 'total triage' and offering remote video and telephone consultations. Adjusting together as a team helped to solidify our joint culture and values and we are emerging out of the Pandemic a unified and resilient team with a focus on our main priority -  to deliver excellent standards of care to all our patients.

During this difficult time we continued to move forward with our quality improvement plans, re-organising our management structure to establish clear team leads and increasing our workforce to include more healthcare professionals and patient services administrators.  In addition, we worked with Assura and BSW CCG to further develop our designs for the new surgery premises to replace Patford House Surgery.  For more information see assuracalne.com

2019 The merge

In April 2019 the new Patford House Partnership is formed.  Bringing together three GP Surgeries under one umbrella Partnership, under the guidance and leadership of Dr Simon Church, Senior Partner.

2020  The pandemic

In March 2020, following National guidance on infection control, the Partners took the hard decision to temporarily close Patford House Surgery and to restrict patient access to Beversbrook Medical Centre and Sutton Benger surgeries.  Embracing new technologies and ways of working to provide our patients with safe and effective care, including remote consultations and working collaboratively with other Primary Care Networks.

2021 The CQC

In May 2021 the service had an unannounced inspection we were subsequently rated as inadequate by the Care Quality Commission.  Whilst, we were bitterly disappointed by this rating we immediately set about making the improvements that CQC said we must do.  In November 2021 we were inspected again, and we were delighted that CQC recognised our efforts and commitment to improvement.  During this time we supported the National  COVID-19 vaccination campaign, running clinics from Beversbrook Medical Centre.  There is still a way to go but we are optimistic for the future!

2022 Our future

The Practice will be inspected once again in 2022 by CQC and we are hoping to be re-rated and lifted out of Special Measures.  With our new Surgery being built (see here for more information), expansion of our workforce and a new Management structure in place we can provide our patients with improved quality of care and ease of access to an appropriate clinician to meet their health needs.  We are looking towards our future with excitement!
