We have lots of exciting things happening at Patford House Partnership. Keep up to date with the latest patient news and updates here.
Planners have given the final green light for Calne's new medical centre building - meaning construction will get underway soon. The new building will replace Patford House Surgery and create the modern space the practice needs for the future.
A contemporary, attractive building, using high quality materials which enhance distinctive local characteristics and complement the surrounding area, the new Surgery on Silver Street will include more consulting and treatment rooms, new technology in patient areas, a major treatments suit, meeting and administration facilities as well as a mobile diagnostic unit bay and the potential for an on-site pharmacy - all adding modern capacity to the town's health system. The design has also been tweaked to help provide pandemic resilience for the future. There will be plenty of car parking including disabled access spaces.
Construction of the new medical centre is expected to take around 15 months.
Beat the Street is Back in Calne!
Beat the Street is coming back to Calne!
A fun game to encourage people to get out and about in their local community either by walking, running and cycling is coming to Calne.
From 15 September until 13 October people from Calne can get involved in Beat the Street. The purpose of the project is to empower communities and increase the use of urban green spaces and to improve health by encouraging people to get more active.
The Beat the Street competition has been a success across the UK and people are encouraged to earn points, win prizes and discover more about their local area by picking up a card and swipe beat boxes across the community. Beat boxes have had signal strength boosted to make them contactless to ensure they are as safe as possible during the pandemic.
COVID-19 messaging is also shared throughout the game and ground markers advise of social distancing. The project is run nationally by an organisation called Intelligent Health and is funded by Calne Town Council & Wiltshire Council. For more information and to get involved, please visit the Calne Beat the Street webpage.
